WHAT IS CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY?

Craniosacral Therapy is developed from the work of an American Osteopath in the 1900's Dr. William Sutherland. He discovered that the fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord has its own rhythmic motion - known as Craniosacral motion which is expressed throughout the body.

The treatment was developed further by John Upledger an Osteopathic Physician who discovered that shock, trauma, illness and other life experiences can to some degree; be held at a cellular level within the body and if not addressed can possibly lead to physical and emotional symptoms.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Gentle and non-invasive, Craniosacral Therapy uses a light touch to tune into the whole body, listening to rhythms and flows. The treatment works to settle the nervous system which supports every function of the body.

You may sense deep relaxation or awareness of heat, tingling, pulsations or other gentle sensations. Some report seeing colours as the body deepens into a healing calmness.

You remain fully clothed on a therapy bed however treatments can be done in sitting or side lying positions if more comfortable.
